- Everything For The Front - Everything for victory!
- Soviet WWII poster
- Year: 1941
- Artist: Lazar Markovitj Lisitskij (Лазарь Маркович Лисицкий)
History of the poster
"Let's build plenty of tanks, anti-tank guns and artillery, planes, cannons, mortars, shells, machineguns, rifles!
Everything for the front! Everything for victory!"
An exciting WWII Soviet poster, where war production is the theme. The poster is very advanced in its mix of photography and graphics, which reflects the fact that it was developed by Lazar Markovitj Lisitskij, better known as El Lisitskij.
Lisitskij was an artist, photographer, and architect, and had a huge impact in all these areas. He was active in both the USSR and Germany, and had great success with his exhibitions. Unfortunately, the social climate in both the Soviet and Germany deteriorated for Lisitskij (who was jewish), and he was forced back to Soviet where he had to adapt his works so they could be approved by higher authority.
This poster is one of his very last works, created in 1941, the year Lisitskij passed away.
