The story of this poster
A fast-paced poster advertising the Stockholm Grand Prix!
The race was held 29-30th of may 1948 at Skarpnäcks Motorbana south of Stockholm. The area was a former war-time airfield that was used as a race track after WW2.
The green car on the poster is most probably the race-favorite B. Bira's Simca-Gordini T15. B. Bira, who's real name was Birabongse Bhanduej, was a prince from Siam (now Thailand) and a recogized racing driver. He won the Grand Prix, but now without problems - he was disqualified just after finish due to the fact that another royalty, Prince Bertil of Sweden, had helped him in push-starting his car. One year later the decision was changed and Bhanduej got his victory!
