History of the poster
Ten miniature instruction pictures showing how to destroy an enemy tank or panzer. US soldiers thought that German panzers were a very difficult nut to crack and this propaganda poster tried to bust that myth.
Published in the legendary Life magazine in dec 1942, this informative piece of art was part of a series intended to raise soldiers' awareness of the enemies' capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. Skilled artists, in this instance Ohio born Noel Sickles, under guidance of military expertise created action filled, exciting imagery without sacrificing military accuracy or detail.
