Product Description:
German WW2 Waffen SS painting.

Waffen SS storm pioneers during river crossing with a light MG34 in the bow, providing cover. Most likely using the "Grosse Flossack 34", which was the name of the inflatable craft. These boats saw intensive action during the invasion of France, for example crossing the Meuse river. They could carry about 1 ton and was also successfully used as pontoon bridges (several tied together side by side with a bridge element drawn across). The extra pics also show the smaller model (kleine Flossack 34) in action in France.

This poster is a reproduction of a carefully restored original and therefore of superb quality, printed on the best paper available on the market.

"For fear of dropping the troops in the sea, the pilots dropped them too far inland - some of them actually in the British lines. The weapon containers often fell wide of the troops, which contributed to our excessive casualties."- Kurt StudentRandom quote
